The training programme is aimed at students from Italian and Slovenian upper secondary schools, as well as pupils from the partner organisation Glasbena šola, and will involve at least the participants in a course comprising 12 sessions. The main objective of this training programme is to promote an understanding of children’s literature and illustration from a cross-border perspective, providing students with the tools and skills necessary to become active and informed readers. The training programme comprises at least 12 sessions, during which participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of children’s literature in depth and acquire practical skills in the field of illustration. Thanks to the involvement of professional illustrators from various European countries, participants will be able to take part in interactive and engaging art workshops, which will offer them the chance to put the techniques learnt during the training into practice.
Among the illustrators who have already confirmed their participation in the project are Michela Occhi from Italy and Vesna Benedetic from Slovenia. In addition, other internationally renowned artists have been approached, including Marco Somà from Italy, Ana Zavadlav from Slovenia, Emile Jadoul from Belgium, Ramadier & Borgeau from France and Sarolta Szulyovsky from Hungary. Their presence and contribution will further enrich the participants’ learning experience, offering them a diverse and stimulating perspective on the world of illustration, visual storytelling and multilingual communication through these mediums. The original artwork created by the illustrators during the art workshops will be used as backdrops during the evening events scheduled for April and May 2025: READING: A SPORT FOR EVERYONE; MELODIES OF TOMORROW.
These events will provide a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their creations and share their experiences with the public, thereby helping to spread the message of inclusion and cultural diversity promoted by the “GO! Librilliamo in Music” project. In conclusion, the training programme offered by the project aims not only to provide participants with knowledge and skills in the field of children’s literature and illustration, but also to stimulate their creativity and promote sharing and inclusion through art and culture. Participants may take part in all three programmes, or just one or two, depending on their interests and preferences.
